About the Department

The WVFC is an all-volunteer fire company serving the residents and businesses of Wolfsville, as well as Smithsburg, Myersville, Thurmont, Middletown, Boonsboro, Mt. Aetna, Lewistown, and Camp David through mutual aid agreements. We are also transferred to stations within Frederick County and Washington County to provide coverage when those stations are involved with a large incident or structure fire. Donations are a vital part of the Company’s sustenance. The growing requirements of the fire service has prompted us to diversify our training and purchase state-of-the-art equipment to better assist those in need. Your donation allows us to meet our operating expenses and assures that we will be available when called upon. Not only do your donations benefit the Company, but also, most importantly, our Community which we serve and protect.

Why Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company?

Wolfsville Vol Fire Co. Inc is a privately held company in Wolfsville, MD and is a single location station. It is nestled in the mountains of Frederick County in a narrow valley between South and Catoctin Mountains and not too far away from Camp David. As the saying goes, all roads lead to Wolfsville. Sunday drivers passing through on Route 17 often wind up passing the small fire station. Ask about excitement in Wolfsville …..most residents talk about traffic accidents or deer season. Usually, though, it’s pretty quiet. That tranquillity is a selling point….. “It’s a rural atmosphere, one of the prettiest sections of Frederick County,”
