About the Department

Water Witch Fire Company is the oldest and one of the remaining all Volunteer Fire Companies in Maryland based in Port Deposit of Cecil County. Having three stations in Port Deposit, Woodlawn, and Conowingo, Water Witch is capable of Water Rescues, Fire Suppression, High Angle Rescue, and ALS and BLS Emergency Medicine.

Station 7 does have a bunk room for personnel to stay overnight to respond to emergencies if they wish to. Water Witch also offers tuition reimbursement for Advanced Life Support training upon completion of any accredited program. In cooperation with Cecil County, Water Witch does support a LOSAP Program for longevity of service to the community.

Our company contains experienced members from renowned Fire Departments from across the state that still believe in the volunteer spirit and continue striving to keep it alive while passing the wisdom onto the next generation.

Why Water Witch Fire Company?

This company is wiling to do hands on training for both fire suppression and EMS response to make sure everything learned through classes is put to use and built upon for more advanced thinking and skill based work.

We are willing to assist in finding programs that will further your career beyond the volunteer lifestyle through job referrals based on merit. Scholarships through MSFA, job references, tuition reimbursement, Workman’s compensation, Basic equipment such as pants and boots, etc.
