About the Department

St. Mary’s County Advanced Life Support Unit provides Advanced Life Support care to the citizens and visitors of St. Mary’s County, MD. Our ALS utilizes a chase car system to provide ALS services. Out of our 5 chase vehicles, 2 of those vehicles are strategically located in the northern and southern portion of the county. These satellite vehicles are housed in the Basic Life Support EMS stations. Our unit also sponsors a program whereas we support BLS departments with providing ALS equipment for all responding apparatus. We encourage Paramedics providing care on a transport unit.

Why St. Mary’s County Advanced Life Support Unit?

We utilize a chase car system to provide Advanced Life Support to the citizens and visitors of St. Mary’s County, MD. We have a total of 5 vehicles including 2 satellite BLS stations. We encourage ALS care on chase vehicles as well as transport units.
