About the Department

The William M. Singerly Steam Fire Engine, Hook & Ladder Company #1 of Elkton, MD Inc. has been providing service to our community since its founding in 1892. We cover over 81 squares miles of territory including major highways, waterways, and critical infrastructure.

Why Singerly Fire Company?

The Singerly Fire Company was one of the first volunteer organizations of its kind when it was founded, and remains today as one of the most proactive and engaged in the region. We provide our volunteers with many benefits, including individual bunk rooms and showering facilities for overnight shifts and inclement weather emergencies. During downtime, we provide access to a multitude of training, on site state of the art fitness center, routine physical examinations, and the ability to grow both personally and professionally. We maintain the highest call volume in Cecil County, running an average of 12-15 EMS calls per day and 6 Fire/Rescue calls for service per day.

Other Volunteers:

Service Learning Program for school-aged youth

Other Benefits:

We have several offerings including credit union membership, duty crew incentive programs, annual members-only events, tax incentives for Town of Elkton residents, and more.
