About the Department

The Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Company Members Welcome You…

Our functions range from performing free home inspections of your smoke detectors to Emergency Medical and Fire/Rescue Emergencies. Rocky Ridge refers to a ridge of ironstone which runs through the area and was a railroad depot at one point of time. We are known as “The Protectors of the Ridge. Protecting the lives and property of the people in the ridge and vicinity.” We are volunteers, and we need your support! Please take a moment and learn about how you can help your community and save lives!

We would like to thank you for all of your support in 2017 and your continued support in 2018.

Why Rocky Ridge Volunteer Fire Company?

We are a small 100% volunteer company located in northern Frederick County just down the road from the famous wooden giant slide, known as the “Big Slide.” We are a very small town and is relatively a peaceful place to live and not over-populated yet.

This is to certify that the Rocky Ridge Vol. Fire Co., Inc. has an open membership policy and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, handicap or national origin. Membership applications may be obtained from our website.
Any person who has arrived at the age of 16 or older and is of good moral character shall be eligible for membership. Their application will be presented to the company membership together with the application fee of two dollars.

Applications of all candidates must be endorsed by someone who is already a member of the company. Notification will be made to prospective members of all membership decisions.

So if you’re looking for a small town environment and some peace and quiet, please consider volunteering with us!
