About the Department

Preston Volunteer Fire Company is one of the eight volunteer fire companies that serve Caroline County, MD. We are located in the county’s southern portion, bordering Talbot and Dorchester Counties. Since 1927, we’ve served small communities dispersed throughout farmland in our area of 56 square miles. Over 27 miles of waterfront separate us from Talbot and Dorchester Counties. Watermen frequent the waterways and in the summertime, there is an increase in watersports and cruising. In recent years route 331 has been listed as an alternate beach route with an increased amount of vehicle traffic. We house an engine, a tanker, an engine tanker, a brush truck, a utility, a rescue, and a command SUV.

Why Preston Volunteer Fire Company?

Preston VFC is in a quiet little town with a big heart. We serve those who live here and those who are just passing through. On average, we receive 250 to 300 calls for service. Using mutual aid agreements and specialized equipment such as our rescue and dive team, we frequently serve surrounding jurisdictions and counties.

Other Services:

Along with fire suppression capabilities, Preston VFC has a BLS equipped ambulance, a gator for off-road emergencies and is a member of the Mid Shore Dive Team. Preston VFC’s dive team includes certified divers, a boat, and a cargo trailer fitted to carry equipment and accommodate divers who want to get dressed in a controlled atmosphere. Other specialized equipment located on our rescue are Paratech struts that can aid in heavy vehicle stabilization and collapse operations. We also carry grain bin rescue equipment, if those emergencies were to arise.

Be sure to follow us on our Facebook page to stay updated on incidents and fundraising events.
