About the Department

The Town of Lineboro gets its name from being situated just south of the Mason Dixon line in Northeastern Carroll County. This small, rural, farm-based town houses just over 500 people. The Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1915 in a historic brick schoolhouse, and since its founding it has enveloped the best of our towns tight-knit community. Over the past decade we have made great improvements to our department including a building addition & renovation, and replacing nearly 60% of our apparatus. Lineboro VFD houses 150 volunteers to include 45 active riding members, and 30 paid, part-time personnel. We house 2 Fire Engines, a Tanker, Medic Unit, Brush Truck, Life Support Unit, Utility Truck, and a Duty Officer Vehicle.

Our members pride themselves with our great yearly fundraisers to include bingos, money raffles, and our legendary Haunted Hayride and House of Horror attraction, Bedlam in Boro. This event is coming up on its 23rd consecutive year and is one of our largest fundraisers that brings out the best of our members and the people who live in our town.

Lineboro VFD was built on generations of families who have taken pride in every aspect of their department. Our current members carry on this legacy, making LVFD a progressive department and well bonded family after over 100 years of dedicated service.

Why Lineboro Volunteer Fire Department?

Our department welcomes anyone who aspires to become a passionate firefighter or EMT. We are always looking for new members to join us in the many opportunities available at Lineboro VFD. This also includes social membership if you wish to assist with our many fundraisers, rather than providing fire protection or EMS services.

For riding members, there is always room for advancement, and the opportunities for being a volunteer are endless. Join our fire department family and work with us to continue to make Lineboro one of the best communities in Carroll County.
