About the Department

The First Hagerstown Hose Company has 202 plus years of service to Washington County. We provide training through the Hagerstown Fire Department on a continuous basis. We are located in the center of Hagerstown which is rapidly growing and thus we are ever increasing in calls. We are in a high life area and a high fire load area.

Why First Hagerstown Hose Company?

We consider all applicants for membership regardless of age, sex, race, color or national origin. We do complete background checks and although someone may have had something happen in the past, this may not deter them from being accepted. Our background checks are a requirement from the chief of the department to prevent possible problems later down the line.

We are a very busy station for the size of our town. Over 1,000 calls in 2017. We try to provide the best possible atmosphere for our members when it comes to training, station conditions and equipment. We have a Fire Museum next to the station telling the history of the fire service in Hagerstown and our company. We welcome anyone to apply.
