About the Department

The Community Fire Company of Rising Sun, Incorporated, is said to have been “Born of Ashes” during the summer of 1921.

The Community Fire Company of Rising Sun is responsible for the fire protection services for the Rising Sun, Areas of Port Deposit, Conowingo, Colora, North East and Calvert. Our area of response contains approximately 62 square miles. The Community Fire Company of Rising Sun consists of 3 firehouses that operate 4 Engines, a Truck, a Tanker, a Rescue , a Brush Truck, several utility vehicles and 4 ALS equipped ambulances.

You can assist the company in various ways, Ladies Auxiliary, Fire fighting, Fire Police, Administrative, Emergency Medical Services, Fund Raising or numerous other ways.
