About the Department

Church Hill VFC (Company 5) is located in the 1st Battalion which is comprised of the three Fire Companies located in northern Queen Anne’s County. Our response area is the second largest in the county with approximately seventy square miles in size. The first due area includes light commercial, residential, historic, rural and agricultural areas. The area is bordered on the north end by Kent County, Maryland who we provide mutual aid to on a regular basis. The area is bordered on the east side by Caroline County, Maryland who we provide mutual aid to on a regular basis. The area to the west side is bordered by the Chester River, where we protect miles of shoreline. Our response area also includes eight miles of U.S. Route 301 which is a heavily traveled north-south corridor of commuter traffic as well as hazardous materials shipments.
