About the Department

The Charles County Medic Unit has been actively serving Charles County, Maryland since 1978. Through the dedication of all of our members, past and present, it would have not been possible to serve the citizens, business owner and visitors of Charles County throughout the years. The CCMICU started out as an Advanced Life Support (ALS) resource used throughout Charles County. Since 2009, a full service EMS transport unit (Ambulance) was added into our fleet to provide both ALS and BLS (Basic Life Support) emergency medical care. The CCMICU will provide you with free training to become an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Paramedic and Emergency Vehicle Operator, offer advanced training to improve your skills to maintain your certifications and keep your skills up to date. Once again we would like to welcome you to the CCMICU family.
