About the Department

The Benedict Volunteer Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Auxiliary Proudly serving Charles County, Maryland since 1950.

We run approximately 500 calls a year fire and EMS combined. We are located in a small community with a great group of volunteers. We have a amazing Junior Cadet program for kids ages 9-15 years old. We work hard to keep our community safe and involved.

Why Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad?

We are a very dedicated department to our community, we interact closely with our community to keep it a safe and happy place. As becoming a volunteer member at our fire department you receive several benefits.

1. Free fire and emergency medical training through the University of Maryland.

This is your chance. We are looking for highly motivated people who have a willingness to help others and are ready to learn. We will teach you EVERYTHING you need to know. We work with the University if Maryland fire Rescue Institute to get you certification courses in EMT, Firefighter and more for FREE!
