About the Department

The Accident Volunteer Fire Department, also known as Company 50, was founded in 1946 by the community to provide fire protection to the Accident area. For over 75 years, the AVFD has been staffed by 100% volunteers who are always willing to answer the call. We currently operate an Engine, Squad, Tanker, Brush, and BLS chase vehicle. Our department responds to approximately 200 incidents per year.

Why Accident Volunteer Fire Department?

The AFVD is always looking for motivated men and women who are willing to answer the call. We respond to both fire and EMS incidents in Accident and the surrounding area. For those interested in joining our team, the AVFD holds regular business meetings on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month at 7:30 PM. Feel free to stop by and pick up an application!
